IS-IS for IP Internets (isis) Internet Drafts

 IPv6 Traffic Engineering in IS-IS

 draft-ietf-isis-ipv6-te-05.txt
 Date: 26/06/2008
 Authors: Jon Harrison
Working Group: IS-IS for IP Internets (isis)
 Formats: txt
This document specifies a method for exchanging IPv6 Traffic Engineering information using the IS-IS routing protocol. The described method uses three new TLVs, together with two new sub-TLVs of the Extended IS Reachability TLV. The information distributed allows a CSPF algorithm to calculate traffic engineered routes using IPv6 addresses.
Simplified Extension of LSP Space for IS-IS

 draft-ietf-isis-wg-extlsp-03.txt
 Date: 25/06/2008
Authors: Les Ginsberg, Stefano Previdi, Mike Shand, Danny McPherson
Working Group: IS-IS for IP Internets (isis)
 Formats: txt
This draft describes a simplified method for extending the LSP space beyond the 256 Link State PDU (LSP) limit defined in [ISO 10589]. This method is intended as a preferred replacement for the method defined in [RFC 3786].
 IS-IS Generic Cryptographic Authentication

 draft-ietf-isis-hmac-sha-04.txt
 Date: 07/11/2007
 Authors: Manav Bhatia
Working Group: IS-IS for IP Internets (isis)
 Formats: txt
This document proposes an extension to IS-IS to allow the use of any cryptographic authentication algorithm in addition to the already documented authentication schemes, described in the base specification and RFC 3567. Although this document has been written specifically for using HMAC construct along with the SHA family of cryptographic hash functions, the method described in this document is generic and can be used to extend IS-IS to support any cryptographic hash function in the future.
 Advertising Generic Information in IS-IS

 draft-ietf-isis-genapp-01.txt
 Date: 20/06/2008
Authors: Les Ginsberg, Stefano Previdi, Mike Shand
Working Group: IS-IS for IP Internets (isis)
 Formats: txt
This draft describes the manner in which generic application information (i.e. information not directly related to the operation of the IS-IS protocol) SHOULD be advertised in IS-IS LSPs and defines guidelines which SHOULD be used when flooding such information.

    Description of Working Group:

IS-IS is an IGP specified and standarized by ISO and incorporating
extensions to support IP. It has been deployed successfully in the
Internet for several years years. The IS-IS Working Group is chartered
to document current protocol implementation practices and
    improvements,
as well as to propose further extensions to be used within the scope
    of
IS-IS and IP routing. Short term, the WG is expected to deliver a set
    of
documents describing common implementation practices and extensions
necessary to scale the protocol. These specifications will encourage
    multiple, inter-operable vendor implementations.

This working group will interact with other standards bodies that have
    responsibility for standardizing IS-IS.

The status of the WG documents maintained by the WG chairs can be
    found
    at http://skat.usc.edu/~tli/Schedule.htm.
